Leonmarcial's installation for the Venice Biennale 2021
INTERWOVEN

Venice Biennale

The peruvian architecture studio leonmarcial arquitectos was invited to be part of the 17th edition of the Venice Biennale with an installation in the space of the Arsenale dedicated to “The New Homes”. Interwoven encourages sharing and celebrates the exchange between homes and their environments through architecture.

Created in 1895 under the title of  “Venice International Art Exhibition”, The Venice Biennale is, to this day, one of the most important cultural exhibitions worldwide, consolidating itself as a universal platform in which countries have the opportunity to exhibit their production in an international context.

It invites you to transform the bars into integration devices.

Interwoven is the result of a collective dialogue between public and private environmental institutions, Amazonian families who control and manage the Peruvian tropical forests on a daily basis, artisans, carpenters and architects. The installation questions: How can we intertwine and integrate transitions and social interactions, dissolving the limits between exterior-interior, between the public and the private?
